Dear Mjolnir users and PI's,

Three years ago, in June 2022, Mjolnir opened its computational gates to all of us. Since then, what an adventure it has been! Together we have:

Executed 37,755,954 jobs
Installed 1,357 software modules
Welcomed 325 unique users
Scaled to 23 physical servers
Served 5 out of 6 sections at Globe

These numbers tell only part of the story. They stand for countless discoveries, papers, and “aha!” moments made possible by your creativity and by Mjolnir’s ever-growing horsepower ;-)

A birthday present for everyone

Yesterday I brought mjolnircomp17fl online, our newest compute node which is an investment of DKK 223,787.50, funded by Bent Petersen and collaborators. Under the hood you’ll find:

2 × AMD EPYC 9754 @ 2.25 GHz (128 cores each)
512 simultaneous threads
1 TB of RAM

With this addition, Mjolnir’s total computational capacity takes a sizeable leap, ensuring shorter queue times and headroom for even more ambitious workloads.
