2024-04-12 - UPDATE: Important Updates on Mjolnir Maintenance and System Changes Effective 12 April 2024

Dear all,

I am pleased to announce that the recent maintenance on the Mjolnir system was completed successfully, and we are now fully operational without any issues.

Additionally, I took the opportunity to implement a few important updates beyond those outlined in previous communications:

Default Memory Settings:

Previously, the default setting for memory allocation was effectively "unlimited," which led to the maximum available memory being reserved whenever a specific amount was not requested.

To address this, I have now set the Default Memory Per CPU to 2GB. This change will help optimize memory use across the system and avoid unnecessary booking of unused memory.

Unified Configuration Management:

Until now, each server required its individual configuration file, which had to be synchronized manually. We have transitioned to a "configless" setup, which allows me to make configuration changes in a single location.

This update means enhanced stability for the cluster, especially when changes are applied globally or when new servers are added.

I hope these improvements make your interactions with Mjolnir smoother and more efficient. Have a fantastic weekend!

Best,

Bent
